Chewy Director, Brand Merchandising in Plantation, Florida

At Chewy, we strive to become the most trusted and convenient online destination for pet parents and our partners – vets and service providers – alike. Our success is measured by the happiness of the people and pets we serve, not simply by the amount of pet supplies we deliver. That’s why we continue to think of outside-the-Chewy-box ways to delight, surprise, and thank our loyal pet lovers.

Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Director, Brand Merchandising to join our Site Experience team. This highly cross functional role collaborates with our Advertising and Integrated Marketing teams to deliver a compelling full funnel offering for our vendor partners who want to tell their National Brand stories on our site, and our Category Management and Finance teams to create a monetization strategy, delivering value to Chewy’s customers and vendors. The ideal candidate will have vendor or vendor facing experience in the ecommerce space, and will be a data-driven leader, who is focused on building high trust relationships and finding mutually beneficial outcomes. The business is growing quickly, so this role requires a clear point of view that is flexible enough to adjust as needed based on shifting landscape and business demands.

This role is based in Plantation, FL, Bellevue, WA or Boston, MA

What you'll do:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team to drive program strategies and execution.

  • Collaborate closely with vendors to understand their national brand objectives and unique value propositions.

  • Develop and implement strategies to authentically present these brands within the marketing eco-system of our platform, ensuring a customer-first approach.

  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Define monetization strategies for valuation of placements and programs

  • Drive a roadmap to evolve and improve the Brand Merchandising program

  • Run and scale program operations with category management and finance

What you'll need:

  • College degree in business-related field

  • 10+ years work experience, with 2+ years in ecommerce

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work successfully cross-functionally with internal and external partners

  • Demonstrate a data-driven approach to problem solving and prioritization

  • Ability to think ahead and set plans in motion for future growth needs

  • Proven experience in partner marketing or category management, or working with these functions at a CPG vendor

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills with a knack for translating brand values into compelling content.

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and e-commerce best practices.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Bonus:

  • MBA

  • Experience in e-commerce back-end operations and Google Analytics
