Job Title: 6G Welder

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled 6G Welder who will be responsible for setting up equipment and welding parts using arc, submerged arc, gas-shielded arc, and TIG machines. The welder will handle the layout, assembly, installation, and repair of plumbing systems, ensuring that these systems are installed according to specifications and appropriate trade and building codes.

Responsibilities

  • Set up welding equipment and weld parts using various techniques including arc, submerged arc, gas-shielded arc, and TIG machines.

  • Layout, assemble, install, and repair plumbing systems consisting of pipes, fittings, piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for heating, cooling, gas, steam, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems.

  • Ensure installations comply with specifications and appropriate trade and building codes.

  • Perform weld tests as per ASME Section IX standards, including welding on schedule 10, 304 stainless steel pipe in the 6G position.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in TIG welding, particularly with stainless steel.

  • Experience with sheet metal and socket welding.

  • Ability to set up and operate a Miller 280 TIG welding machine.

  • Knowledge of ASME Section IX standards and welding requirements.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Certification as a TIG welder.

  • Familiarity with radiography and bend test acceptance criteria as per ASME Section IX.

  • Experience in fabricating vessels, components, and piping.

Work Environment

This is a construction jobsite position. You will work with advanced welding equipment and tools, adhering to safety standards. The role requires adherence to a construction dress code appropriate for a jobsite environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.00/hr.
