Payments Operation (PO) is part of the Digital & Platform Services organization in the Corporate & Investment Bank. PO supports Payments, Receivables and Trade Finance Products and acts as the payment hub for JPMorgan Chase across the firm's business lines. PO consists of 5,500 employees across 60 sites and supports 142k corporations, financial institutions, governments, and municipalities domiciled in over 180 countries. On average, PO processes 30.1MM transactions daily across 122 currencies valued at $3.2T.
Job Summary:
As a Payment Operations - Data Domain Architect - Vice President within the Payments Operations organization, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our data architecture. Amidst significant industry changes and disruptions, your expertise will help enhance our business and operational model, positioning us for continued success. You will work closely with various Operations and Technology Leaders across their respective organizations, leveraging your technical skills and passion for data to promote data analytics, metrics, and insights across Payments Operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated team member with a strong problem-solving ability and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
Understand the data landscape across the Payments organization and work to leverage all available data resources
Leverage technical skills to source and prepare data from a variety of data sources including traditional databases, no-SQL, Hadoop, and Cloud.
Works closely with data analytics staff within our team to understand requirements and partner to optimize solutions and develop / foster new ideas
Work with Data Domain Architect lead on all facets of Data Domain Architecture, including resource management
Work with Tech, Product and CIB data partners to research and implement use cases
Evaluate the current data architecture and shape the future state data architecture and roadmap to serve on Payments Operations data needs
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
6+ years of relevant work experience as a data/ML engineer, data scientist, business intelligence engineer
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Financial Engineering, MIS, Mathematics, Statistics or other quantitative subject
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills coupled with ability to understand business requirements and to communicate complex information effectively to broad audiences and collaborate across teams at varying levels using a consultative approach
Experience modeling data in an architecture that balances query processing with business results
General understanding of Agile Methodology
Cloud platform knowledge
Traditional Database Skills (Oracle, SQL Server). Strong SQL overall
Understanding of ETL framework and tools including Alteryx
Ability to profile, clean, and extract data from a variety of sources
Analytics and insights development experience - telling stories with data using Tableau / Alteryx
Exposure to data science, AI/ML and model development
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Prefer hands on experience with Databricks or Snowflake
Experience with Python/PySpark
