JPMorgan Chase Compliance - Operational Risk Management Lead - Vice President in Plano, Texas

As an Operational Risk Management (ORM) Lead, you will be responsible for the design and execution of the Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) Framework including establishing policies and standards that set forth the minimum requirements for Lines of Business (LOBs) and Corporate Functions (CFs) regarding the identification, measurement, monitoring, management, and reporting of compliance, conduct, and operational risk. You will help the firm manage its wholesale loan services group in a responsible way by anticipating new and emerging risks. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that the firm not only complies with regulatory requirements but also fosters a culture of risk awareness and proactive management. Moreover, you will play a pivotal role in crisis management, providing critical insights and leadership during times of operational stress. Your impact will influence not just the firm's risk profile, but also its reputation and long-term sustainability.

The Commercial & Investment Banking CCOR Advisory team is accountable for the management, execution and oversight of the CCOR program for the Commercial & Investment Banking businesses and function.

CCOR maintains oversight of the firm's compliance conduct and operational risk management activities. CCOR is responsible for the design and execution of the CCOR program, which consists of the second line of defense's responsibilities in managing the firm's compliance, conduct, and operational risks. CCOR Program sets forth JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s (JPMC's) second line of defense coverage of Compliance, Conduct, and Operational risk and establishes policies and standards which manage Compliance, Conduct and Operational risk across the firm. CCOR's risk management framework also includes independent assessment and oversight of Compliance, Conduct and Operational risk inherent with the firm's business and activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand the key processes and controls performed related to wholesale lending.

  • Perform independent assessment of operational risks through CCOR's Operational Risk Framework.

  • Calibrate view points and present findings to the 1st Line of Defense (\"LOD\") and Commercial & Investment Banking CCOR Management.

  • Partner with 1st LOD to strengthen the Operational Risk environment of the firm using analytics and independent challenge.

  • Develop and/or challenge KPIs / KRIs related to these risks through effective monitoring activities.

  • Proactively analyze operational risks to identify and make recommendations for process or control changes and system enhancements.

  • Prepare and/or review Operational Risk materials for management meetings, Control Committees, etc.

  • Lead or participate in various projects and strategic initiatives across CCOR.

  • Work collaboratively with global team members across LOBs and Corporate Functions and participate actively in working groups.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operational Risk Management Executive.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance or a related field with proven financial industry experience

  • 7+ years of experience with operational/credit risk management, control management, product control, compliance or audit in the financial industry

  • Experience in lending, payments, Commercial / Investment Banking or other relevant wholesale financial services products

  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex business processes, analyze potential risks and think outside-the-box

  • Ability and proven track record of providing constructive challenge to proactively identify operational risk

  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to understand risks and their drivers and to form and explain articulate views including effective interaction with senior management

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage competing priorities, make independent decisions and work with limited supervision while exceling in a dynamic, demanding environment

  • Proven history of developing strong teams
