Robert Half Legal Secretary in Placerville, California

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a diligent Legal Secretary in Placerville, California. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of administrative duties within our law firm, including preparing legal documents, scheduling, and client relations. Your primary function will be to support our attorneys and manage the legal proceedings within the firm.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, type, and proofread office memos, pleadings, and briefs to ensure accuracy.

• Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates for attorneys to ensure smooth operations.

• Maintain an organized filing system for all legal documents to facilitate easy access and retrieval.

• Handle incoming phone calls, directing them to the appropriate parties or taking messages as required.

• Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases to support legal proceedings.

• Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail to ensure effective communication.

• Uphold client confidentiality and adhere to the firm's code of ethics to maintain professional standards.

• Use legal software to keep records of case history and future hearings for efficient case management.

• Assist attorneys in preparing for trials by organizing exhibits and other necessary information.

• Manage client relations and address their inquiries to ensure customer satisfaction. Requirements • Proficient in Aderant and Adobe Acrobat.

• Experience with Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS).

• Familiarity with Case Management Software and CompuLaw.

• Ability to handle billing functions efficiently.

• Skillful in briefing and calendar management.

• Strong client relations skills.

• Knowledge of Consumer Electronics.

• Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role is preferred.

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Proven ability to work under strict deadlines.

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with legal procedures and protocols, and court system.

• Confidentiality, integrity, and professional discretion are essential in this role.
