Laborer - Sewer Dept

This is an entry level position with the Department of Public Works Department. The person performs manual labor and operates vehicles and equipment in the maintenance and repair of sanitary sewers and storm water systems. The work is performed under the supervision of the Sewer Foreman or Sewer Crew Leader.

Position normally works Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, with on-call hours on a rotating basis, possible emergency overtime after hours and weekends required. Starting salary is $20.50/hr.

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required, minimum age 18 years.

2. One (1) to two (2) years' infrastructure maintenance experience.

3. Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement and clean driving record.

Any combination of education and plumbing or construction experience may be considered. The candidate must meet all other minimum qualifications, with exception of the CDL, which may be considered for this role with mandatory receipt of CDL within six (6) months of hire.
