Applications Accepted Starting May 13, 2024 Application Review Starting May 20, 2024 Miss Hall\'s School seeks a part-time Horizons Greenhouse Teacher for the 2024-25 academic year. The Greenhouse Teacher teaches students basic horticulture skills while fostering an understanding of the operations and goals of the Greenhouse. As a member of the Horizons Department, this position will teach Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and deliver the year-long 9th-grade Greenhouse Project curriculum, culminating in the annual Horizons Plant Sale. This position reports to the Director of Horizons and works in collaboration with the Ceramics Teacher, as well as with other academic departments and colleagues. We desire a collaborative, inspiring, and innovative teacher who advocates for the students and mission of Miss Hall\'s School. In addition to the continuing curriculum that is in place, there is room to develop new projects and workshops in support of expanded learning centered on horticulture and land use, and in alignment with the goals of the overall Horizons program. Required Skills, Responsibilities and Knowledge: - 1+ years of cumulative Teaching Experience - 1+ years of student-facing teaching experience and in an educational setting is preferred - Understanding aspects of greenhouse operations and plant care - Knowledgeable about how to grow plants from seed, from cuttings and by division - Skilled in of how to teach students to transplant seedlings into packs and nurture them - Strong interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team - Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion and to serving a diverse, global community - Commitment to the Miss Hall\'s School Mission and Core Values Salary benchmarked with NAIS medians and commensurate with experience
