University of Pittsburgh Visiting Instructor - Spanish Dept. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for one or more full-time Visiting Instructor positions to teach three 3-credit courses per term (Fall and Spring). We are seeking a dynamic, innovative educator who excels at teaching Spanish language as well as Hispanic Literature and Cultural Studies. The position will begin in Fall 2024.

 

Applicants must demonstrate the capacity to teach courses in all levels of Spanish, especially language classes. Course responsibilities include elementary, intermediate, and advanced-level courses in the language sequence. A Master of Arts in Spanish or Education in hand at the time of appointment and native or near-native proficiency in Spanish is required. Candidates must also have prior college-level teaching experience and be familiar with current foreign language pedagogical approaches.

 

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Pittsburgh is a vibrant community of interdisciplinary students and scholars with an undergraduate major and minors in Spanish Culture, Language, and Literature and an active events calendar with visiting scholars, conferences, and other research and cultural activities.
