We're seeking a future team member for the role of Product Owner to join our Payments Enablement team in the Treasury Services business line. This role is located in one of the following locations:  Pittsburgh, PA; or Lake Mary, FL The Product Owner will lead one of two feature groups - Payment Initiation or Reference Data - within the User Interface Functions Product Group. The Product Owner defines and prioritizes the product development backlog, collaborates with stakeholders to gather requirements, and works closely with the development team to ensure the successful delivery of the product. This role leads a cross-functional delivery pod in understanding ever-changing user needs, and prioritizing the delivery of solutions to provide the highest business value. The Product Owner also guides the team in understanding, and consistently measuring, performance metrics that inform the overall health of the Payment Initiation or Reference Data capabilities. For Payment Initiation, the Product Owner will be responsible for designing and bringing to market capabilities that enable a diverse set of business users within BNY to execute critical payments required to run our business and deliver for Clients across segments. For Reference Data, the Product Owner will be responsible for designing and bringing to market features that enable a diverse set of business users within BNY to configure capabilities that control the payments experience for both external Clients and internal users at BNY. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways: * Work closely with business stakeholders and end-users to prioritize features that will deliver highest business value to payment initiation or reference data capabilities, with the ultimate goal of delivering an industry-leading product * Partner with UX Design and Engineering teams to identify gaps in the user experience and make recommendations to improve in a measurable way * Define specifications for major features and effectively define proper measurement and instrumentation to analyze results post-release/launch * Coordinate and negotiate with other product teams to manage dependencies and ensure a high-quality product launch * Triage multi-dimensional product issues and recommend enhancements to mitigate and improve the product user experience To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following: * Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred * 1-3 years' experience in product management and agile methodology * 3-5 years' experience in Financial Services * Experience in both Product Management and Digital Transformation preferred * Strategic thinker and proficient problem solver with demonstrated ability to work independently At BNY, our inclusive culture speaks for itself. Responsible for defining and prioritizing product backlog, collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, and working closely with development team to ensure the successful delivery of the product. Product Execution: Able to write specs for major features. Able to think through and specify complex functionality. Understands the right amount of details to include in a feature specification. Able to negotiate the implementation of current work, make the right trade-off decisions to launch products in a high quality manner. Knows when to escalate to managers. Able to identify and triage issues with specific features, but understand how multiple features are interrelated and catch more complex problems. Customer Insights: Effectively defines proper measurement and instrumentation for a product to analyze results post-release/launch. Works with manager to make recommendations on the right next steps for the feature. Assesses the quality of existing UX to make recommendations on how to improve user experience. Ability to create wireframes independently and in coordination with the design team. Partners with managers to identify when to gather feedback from users in order to drive more effective decision-making. Primary responsibilities include: Working with technology and product team to track and maintain scope of backlog features/cross-POD teams and identifying the right PI Planning Cycle to complete work. Participates in creating documentation required for Agile ceremonies, works with other product teams to identify PI and iteration agile ceremonies. Defines user stories, works with cross-POD teams to refine stories and has decision-making accountability. Guides decisions made in collaboration with development teams regarding the technical framework based on design needs. Modified based upon local regulations/requirements. Bachelor's degree in business management or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 1-3 years of product experience, 3-5 years in a financial industry.
