Xylem Sr Manager, Operational Finance in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The Role:

Sr Manager, Operational Finance will utilize your specialized knowledge to conduct in depth financial analyses and contribute to the strategic planning process. Your expertise may be focused on a specific sector or financial function, such as capital budgeting, cost analysis, or economic forecasting. You will be responsible for developing specialized financial models, identifying trends, and providing recommendations to optimize financial performance.

Responsibilities:

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Develop and maintain financial models to aid in budgeting and forecasting processes

• Analyze financial data and report on variances from budgeted amounts

• Collaborate with department heads to create and track departmental budgets

• Identify areas for cost savings and efficiencies

• Provide recommendations for budget adjustments based on financial analysis

Financial Reporting

• Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

• Present financial data to upper management and provide insights and recommendations

• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data

• Develop and maintain standardized financial reporting templates

• Monitor key performance indicators and report on financial performance to stakeholders

Financial Analysis

• Conduct in depth financial analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement

• Create and maintain financial dashboards to track key metrics

• Perform scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to support decision making

• Identify and communicate potential risks and opportunities to management

• Provide ad hoc financial analysis as requested by stakeholders

Strategic Planning

• Assist in the development of long term financial plans and strategies

• Evaluate and recommend potential investments and business initiatives

• Monitor and track progress towards strategic financial goals

• Conduct competitive analysis and assess market trends to inform strategic planning

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to support strategic initiatives

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance department

• Develop and implement new processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards

• Streamline existing financial processes to improve productivity

• Train and educate team members on new processes and procedures

Relationship Management

• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including department heads and executives

• Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial data

• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors as needed

• Serve as a financial advisor and resource to other departments

• Communicate financial information and recommendations clearly and effectively to non financial stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field with at least 7-10 years experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.

• Expertise in a specific area of finance, specifically business partnership.

• Strong ability to analyze financial data and provide specialized insights.

• Familiarity with financial software and advanced tools relevant to the specialization.

• Ability to convey complex financial concepts to non specialists.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications like the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Salary range:

$91,500.00 - $164,500.00
