As a Solution Architect within PNC's Solution Architecture & Strategy organization, you will be based in one of our Technology hubs (Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, Birmingham, AL, Dallas, TX). Weekly time in the office is required.

Seeking a highly skilled IT Architect to pioneer the solutioning and design of monitoring technologies, logging systems, and event management solutions. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our IT infrastructure. This role involves architecting best practices for monitoring and logging, comprehensive operations dashboards, and event management systems to enhance visibility and response capabilities

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with infrastructure and application monitoring tools, such as Dynatrace, Grafana, ELK Stack, TrueSight, etc.

  • Experience with SIEM/logging tools and analytics, such as Splunk, Humio/LogScale, BigPanda, ServiceNow, Kibana, etc.

  • Experience with data visualization and dashboarding, such as PowerBI, Tableau, etc.

  • Proficiency in scripting (such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash) and automation (such as Ansible, PowerAutomate, Automation Anywhere, etc.)

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (such as GCP, AWS, Azure) and their monitoring solutions.

  • Familiarity with Unified Modeling Language (UML) or diagram-as-code solutions for creating technical documentation.

Job Summary:

  • Design and implement robust monitoring architectures for infrastructure and applications.

  • Design solutions for logging frameworks and best practices to ensure comprehensive data collection, storage, and analysis.

  • Architect event management systems to streamline incident detection, escalation, and resolution processes.

Technology Evaluation & Integration

  • Evaluate and recommend monitoring, logging, and event management tools and technologies.

  • Architect/Design the integration of these technologies with existing systems and ensure seamless data flow and correlation.

  • Ensure systems are scalable, maintainable, and meet the bank's security and compliance standards.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, IT Operations, and Security, to ensure cohesive monitoring and management strategies.

  • Lead architectural reviews and contribute to the development of IT governance and compliance policies.

  • Mentor and guide junior architects and engineers in best practices and new technology adoption.

Documentation & Best Practices:**

  • Develop and maintain architectural documentation, including diagrams, standards, and procedures.

  • Establish and promote best practices for monitoring, logging, and event management across the organization.

  • Provide training and support to operational teams on the effective use of monitoring and event management tools.

Job Description

  • Designs solution roadmaps, according to business strategies and processes in solution architecture, through client requirement analysis, cross-team collaboration and problem resolution.

  • Designs solution roadmaps, and system and software architecture according to business strategies and solution architecture standards/processes.

  • Analyzes client requirements and determines appropriate solutions to these requirements based on business needs.

  • Resolves routine to moderately complex problems and issues in solution architecture; assesses any potential risks and determines solutions to these risks.

  • Works with other solution architecture staff, technology experts and business stakeholders to provide functional support to clients on solution architecture updates.
