Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. seeks a Software Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA to:

Design, develop, unit test, debug, and maintain Java based web applications in accordance with functional requirements and scope of work as part of an agile scrum team.

Develop technical documents for software architecture, design, and verification plans.  Define and develop software requirements, architectures, and design suited for fault-tolerant systems.

Participate in all aspects of software development, systems integratino, test execution, issues resolution, and reviews.

Contribute and conform to Digital Engineering adopted software development standards.

Work within the Digital Engineering group to support enterprise initiatives and technical projects related to ecommerce websites.

Participate in production deployment and provide support for product.

Resolve critical production issues.

Review technical designs and code contributed by others and provide feedback on any necessary changes. 

Requirements: Master's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 2 years of application development experience or related experience. Employer will also accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equilvalent in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years of application development experience, or related experience as an equivalent alternative. 

Required knowledge or experience with:

NodeJS, ExpressJS, HandleBarJS;

JDK 1.7 or higher;

Spring boot 2.x or higher;

AWS-EKS;

Query optimization of relational databases (PostgreSQL);

Unit Testing frameworks (Mocha/Chai, Spock Groovy); and

Monitoring & Log aggregation tools.
