Hitachi Rail STS USA SENIOR SECURITY ENGINEER in PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania

Hitachi Rail STS USA, Inc., seeks a Senior Security Engineer to work in Pittsburgh, PA, to protect critical company information for confidentiality, integrity, and availability through the proposal and implementation of the Information Security Strategic Plan. Specific duties include: (1) leading conceptual, preliminary, and final engineering designs for cybersecurity, security risk assessment, and SCADA systems as Work Package Leader (WPL) by interfacing with customers, leading contractual and technical engineering discussions with vendors to investigate their engineering compliance and ensuring technical engineering requirements for these subsystems are met for each Hitachi contract. Provide support to Hitachi Procurement Team to determine and onboard Cybersecurity and SCADA vendors; (2) performing communication engineering system integration activities by supervising in-house engineering activities and performing related factory acceptance tests by inspecting equipment and systems to ensure safety regulations are met; (3) supervising onsite construction of engineering products and components while leading SCADA and cybersecurity subsystem engineering commissioning activities; (4) coordinating trial runs to test communication engineering products and systems and ensuring compliance with customer requirements; (5) supporting the engineering procedures of the operation and maintenance teams to ensure that engineering projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget. Identifying and resolving Cybersecurity and Communication Engineering problems when interfacing with main subsystems, including signaling and Telecommunication DCS; (6) drafting the security study, security report, and related security plans, including System Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing engineering test results; (7) providing high-level and detailed Cybersecurity risk assessment to ensure the continuous security monitoring of the system in alignment with engineering technology innovation initiatives. Providing security audits; and (8) conferring with potential Hitachi customers to secure SCADA and Cybersecurity WPL contract bids for various engineering projects.

Must have a master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or Electronics and Communication Engineering and two years of experience in a network systems engineer or security engineer position.

Must have experience: (1) designing network and cybersecurity system to comply with the technical contractual requirement by interfacing with the customer; (2) performing system integration and testing activities between various systems while performing the installation process; (3) providing proper design and implementation documents to the customers for operation and maintenance teams to take over the systems after testing the systems; (4) drafting security report based on the study and implementation of Security and Firewall Rules; (5) designing and implementing workstation and server OS using Hard Drive Imaging and its associated services (Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, ADFS, Windows Batch Scripting); (6) Implementing and troubleshooting Virtualization Technology (VMware, vCenter, HyperV), core Networking and Security Infrastructure (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Wireless Controller & APs like Cisco Meraki), Servers (Host and Backup) with its associated storage (SAN, NAS), Remote Desktop Services (Citrix, RDS) based on client approved design; (7) deploying security related technologies (Antivirus, Patch Management, Multifactor Authentication, MDM) and cloud based solution; (8) working with application and device OEMs in migration projects to ensure proper configuration for interface between systems; and (9) working as part of installation team to build network and server cabinets with proper power calculations.
