DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will perform semi-skilled work in the maintenance of buildings and grounds at the Southwestern Veterans' Center. Duties of the position include performing masonry work, assisting with carpentry and plumbing functions, and painting. You will also cut grass with hand and riding mowers, and remove snow and ice from roads, sidewalks, and parking areas. All assigned duties are performed in accordance with the DMVA general safety rules.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment (7.5 hours/day; 37.5 hours/week) Work hours are 1st shift (6:30 AM to 2:30 PM), Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Overtime as needed Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Condition of Employment:

This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.

Additional Requirement: You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualification (not required): Work experience in trades such as masonry, carpentry, or plumbing

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
