Research Tech II Sequencing Core

 

Performs basic molecular biology techniques including (but not limited to) DNA and RNA handling and quantitation, DNA and RNA extraction, sequencing, PCR and RT-PCR methods. Organizes and prepares samples for assays. Works with team to maintain on track sample processing and workflows. Maintains inventory and organizational structure of facility. Works collaboratively with team to fulfill needs of the operations.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.

Organizes and prepares samples for assays. Works with team to maintain on track sample processing and workflows. Maintains inventory and organizational structure of facility. Works collaboratively with team to fulfill needs of the operations.

Physical Effort

Walking between building's, on campus, standing and sitting for long periods at the bench.

Bending to put away supplies, lifting up to 30 pounds. Reading small print on vials and tubes.
