University of Pittsburgh Research Instructor in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The University - http://www.braininstitute.pitt.edu/ of Pittsburgh LiveLikeLou Center for ALS Research and the Donnelly laboratory in the Department of Neurobiology seeks to expand its outstanding multidisciplinary research team focused on determining the pathobiology of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and related neurological disorders such as Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD). We are looking for exceptional candidates who will pursue novel approaches to the neurobiological causes of ALS/FTD with a specific understanding of RNA biology, RNA binding protein dysfunction, and protein aggregation in neurological disease.

The successful candidate will work with the Donnelly laboratory in the Department of Neurobiology, employing patient-derived model systems and molecular and cellular biology approaches to perform basic and translational research. Successful candidates are expected to work in a collaborative environment and establish and maintain collaborations both within the University of Pittsburgh Community and with external research groups.

The appointment will be at the Research Instructor, appointment stream rank in the Department of Neurobiology - https://neurobio.pitt.edu/ at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine - https://www.medschool.pitt.edu/. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Neuroscience, Cellular Biology, or Molecular Biology and have demonstrated excellence in research. Expertise in iPSC model systems, RNA binding protein biology, and protein aggregation is required. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
