ATI is seeking to hire a Process Control & Automation Engineer II in Brackenridge, Pennsylvania to support our Specialty Rolled Products Finishing departments.

Reporting into the Automation Team Manager, you will have responsibility for the architecture, modification, and maintenance of mission critical computer-based automation systems that are essential to accomplishing goals related to process and quality improvement, cost reduction, equipment obsolescence/integration, security and automation improvement.

In this role, you will be able to showcase your skills, and have an ability to learn new technical skills. Technical skills that you will either use or learn includes:

  • Programming using Object Oriented Programming tools (e.g., C++, C#, Java, .NET)

  • Configuration, administration, maintenance, and upgrade of Wintel PC & Server hardware/software.

  • Web page development/maintenance/administration.

  • Apache or IIS development/maintenance/administration.

  • Administration and maintenance of VMWare/HyperV-virtual machines, PC&A domains and Active Directory, Unix-based systems, DEC VMS, OS/2 systems, or DOS systems.

  • Programming/administration using PowerShell, REXX, VB, Visual Studio, Delphi, and ColdFusion.

  • Code management/collaboration tools (SVN).

As part of the team, you will share 24 hour / 7 day a week on-call support responsibilities on a rotating basis.

Essential Functions

  • Lead/participate in the design, implementation, testing, commissioning, and evaluation of new and existing computer-based automation systems

  • Project planning of computer-based automation system projects, including project scheduling, resource and budget planning, commissioning planning

  • Oversee project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure expected quality, timely delivery and within budget

  • Develop, deploy, test and maintain SCADA system to ensure functionality and monitor systems to quickly address problems or adjust automated processes

  • Design, program, install and alter/modify HMIs

  • Responsible for writing, maintaining and enhancing functional requirement and system documentation

  • Participation in world class safety program

  • Participate in capital projects as needed

  • Lead/participate in problem-solving activities; engineer and implement solutions

  • Interact with internal staff and shop floor personnel, as required, in the performance of job responsibilities

  • Organize and conduct audits
