Citizens Operations Loan Specialist I - Business Banking in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Description

The Business Banking Operations Loan Specialist I is responsible for the processing of commercial credit in support of underwriting during their origination and/or the ongoing portfolio management activities. Communicates with both internal and external customers identifying required information and provides status updates to interested parties. Maintains/updates appropriate systems, determines and orders necessary due diligence, assists with the transfer of credits, supports the establishment and maintenance of virtual credit files and the overall preparation of a file for underwriting as specified in accordance with the Policies and Procedures established by Business Banking Operations, and provides general operational support for the Business Banking Operations department.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring loans are closed and documented in accordance with the Citizens credit approval procedure.

  • Accurately booking the loan to the loan accounting system.

  • Performing appropriate due diligence tasks, reviewing operational risk components, and ensuring conditions precedent are met prior to closing or funding a loan.

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills in order to interact efficiently and effectively with internal business partners, legal counsel and clients.

  • Knowledge of Federal regulations, loan documentation terms and conditions including credit agreements, notes, guarantees, and collateral is required as you will act as a gate keeper for certain compliance and reporting requirements.

  • Reconcile loan accounting recon account for assigned loans.

  • Manage and clear post-closing legal documentation exceptions in compliance with bank policy.

  • Implement effective controls and proactively initiate action over key client indicators and managing loan closings within established Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • An Associate’s or Bachelor's degree is preferred or 2-3 years of relevant business experience working with loans and loan accounting system. A minimum of 2 years in Banking and/or Financial Services.

  • Highly motivated and is team-oriented. Analytical ability to expedite moderately complex problem resolution.

  • Highly-effective written and oral communication skills. Able to provide exceptional customer service and to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, and with all levels of management.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a time sensitive environment while maintaining service level agreements. Ability to effectively manage a pipeline of credits, independently prioritizing activities.

  • Prior work experience in a business/commercial lending environment is required with knowledge of customary products, practices and policies. Knowledge of SBA processing and real estate secured lending is preferred. Advanced knowledge of typical commercial loan documentation, financial statements and due diligence is required.

  • Must be experienced with MS Word, Excel, Outlook.

  • Experience with FaCT, AFS, Relay, Content Manager are all pluses.

  • Hours per Week: 40

  • Work Schedule: Mon - Fri
