Job Description Summary

Install, maintain, and repair internal factory equipment. Oversee vendors who perform maintenance, electrical and other facility, or property services on site. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the overall maintenance of a combined cycle facility.

  • Supervise the development and implementation of procedures and systems for plant personnel to maintain facility in safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

  • Lead by example in all GE initiatives including EHS, HR, Six Sigma, Quality, and computerized maintenance management.

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

  • Ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.

  • Able and willing to perform minor hands-on maintenance as required or certified (where applicable).

  • Conduct facility inspections.

  • Own the implementation and use of Maximo (maintenance tracking software).

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 3+ years of experience in maintenance management and/or facilities management in a manufacturing environment (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4+ years of experience in maintenance management and/or facilities management in a manufacturing environment).

Desired Characteristics :

  • Aircraft engines experience desired, to include experience with assembly and test.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Established project management skills.

  • Able to communicate with vendors.

  • Available for on call facility support and emergency readiness.

  • Coordinate with landlord on grounds and facility maintenance.

  • Involvement with emergency preparedness.

  • Manage a budget and bullet train for the site.

  • Manage investment capital and spend for the site.

  • Work with vendors and serve as on site focal.

  • Manage the successful PM of equipment on site.

  • Develop and oversee the Management of Change process for Sterling.
