Clinical and Translational Science Institute CTSI is looking for a Grants and Contracts Specialist. This position is responsible for the financial oversight of CTSA award. Incumbent will coordinate with senior administration, subaccount awardees and financial support personnel for review of budget and project information. Individual will complete internal paperwork, process expense and purchasing requests, reconcile monthly levels, prepare individual balance reports, monitor cost share obligations and prepare close-out documents. Incumbent will monitor CTSI assigned sponsored and non-sponsored accounts for accuracy. Incumbent will report any inaccuracies to senior administration and make recommendations for corrections. Incumbent will monitor subaccounts for deficiencies and make recommendations to subaccount administrators. Position will assist senior research administrators in the compilation of statistical and financial reports as needed.

Incumbent will maintain and update research invoicing database, prepare and process documents for sponsored and non-sponsored projects assigned by senior administration. Incumbent will assist in the coordination of the monthly research committee meetings. The incumbent must be able to work with diverse populations including various levels of staff and faculty.

Job Summary

Performs post-award accounting duties for moderately complex grants and contracts. Monitors account activity, performs internal audits, resolves routine issues, and provides policy and procedure interpretation. Prepares routine financial reports and government reports. Recommends operational improvements.

Essential Functions

Ability to operate a PC and communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with a broad variety of people. Telephone skills, computer and keyboard skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills. Ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.

Physical Effort

Position is generally sedentary, but there may be times when position requires mobility to attend meetings both in person and virtually. Ability to move throughout campus to attend face to face meetings and or participate in virtual meetings or lift reports weighting approximately 15lbs.
