Grants and Contracts Officer (Remote or Hybrid)

 

The Office of Sponsored Programs is seeking a qualified Grants and Contracts Officer on the Grants Management Services Team. This position is responsible for reviewing, endorsing, and submitting proposals for a designated constituency on behalf of the University. Review includes verifying budgets and ensuring conformance with sponsor, governmental, and internal requirements. The incumbent is also responsible for reviewing, negotiating, and processing sponsored award modifications from federal, state, and nonprofit funding agencies. Qualified applicants should be familiar with federal grant agency policies such as the NIH, NSF, DoD. Strong customer service and organizational skills are required, along with professionalism, tact, discretion, and initiative to succeed in this fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Job Summary

Supports the preparation of proposals and negotiates routine proposals and agreements. Prepares professional sponsored project correspondence and resolves inquiries and issues. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures and verifies budgets. Maintains electronic research administration systems.

Essential Functions

  1. Reviews and submits proposal submissions for external funding. 2. Processes prior approval requests with sponsors. 3. Reviews and confirms compliance with University and Sponsor requirements.

Physical Effort

This position is generally sedentary. All work is electronic, and correspondence and meetings can be done virtually.
