UPMC Employee Traveler Safety and Threat Information Coordinator in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

We have an exciting opportunity available with our UPMC Threat Assessment & Employee Access department. We're searching for a full-time, Employee Traveler Safety & Threat Information Coordinator to join the team! This position primarily works daylight hours, Monday through Friday. The Employee Traveler Safety and Threat Information Coordinator will coordinate UPMC's employee traveler safety program while dually serving as a resource for UPMC's Threat Assessment and Response Team. They are responsible for monitoring UPMC employee travel and ensuring that employees are safe during their travels. They will interact with our travel safety advisor and receive, analyze and disseminate data.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the development, communication and maintenance of UPMC's international travel security programs and processes.

  • Daily monitoring of US-based and international travel alerts, warnings and notices. When such communication negatively impacts UPMC business travelers, immediately advise impacted employee(s) and leadership.

  • Liaise with those governmental agencies that are involved with UPMC traveler safety needs such as that U.S. State Department, in-country U.S. Embassy security, Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), vendors, and UPMC staff to assure that those conducting business on behalf have information that is needed to promote their safety.

  • Collaborate with UPMCs traveler safety-related vendors on all matters pertaining to security, medical and travel-related issues to include annual contract review/approval.

  • Interact with those involved with threats against UPMC to gather information about those threats. Gather information pertaining to a threat against UPMC from a variety of data repositories to which UPMC has access.

  • Prepare concise reports, meeting agendas and other documentation to assist with threat assessment processes and maintaining an appropriate information repository for the UPMC START Team.

  • Coordinate with multiple entities, both internal and external to UPMC, regarding threats against UPMC.

  • Interact with UPMC staff / departments to assure that they are aware of the support mechanisms that are available to them.

  • Serve as a resource to all UPMC Health System practices in matters within this role? purview.

  • Bachelors Degree required.

  • Experience with informational repositories that are normally used during the course of threat assessment and management is preferred. Such repositories may include; risk management-related repositories, public records, repositories, criminal justice-related repositories, clinical repositories and others.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, especially the ability to effectively interact and communicate with those partaking in atypical travel and are otherwise in threatening situations.

  • Ability to handle confidential materials and sensitive issues in a confidential and professional manner.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgement.

  • Computer skills in multiple platforms to include Windows-related applications and mobile apps.

  • Good organization, planning and communication (verbal and written) skills are essential
