WESCO Director - Environmental Health and Safety in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

As a leader in the electrical distribution market, we are dedicated to operational excellence, safety, and compliance. We are seeking a Director - Environmental Health and Safety to join our organization to lead our efforts in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace. This person oversees organizational compliance with local, state and federal environment, health and safety regulations. Ensures that environmental policy and procedure manuals are available and updated at all times. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Focused on the growth and enhancement of services capabilities for delivery of the following areas: training, repairs, inspections, rentals and consulting.

  • Development and maintenance of a technical matrix to be used to identify expertise, service capabilities, and areas that require additional resources to improve technical or geographical responsiveness.

  • Lead and participate in branding, marketing, and business development programs that are focused on services.

  • Provide direction on major projects and general marketing.

  • Ensure projects are executed with a high level of efficiency and technical excellence.

  • Possess strong verbal, written, presentation skills as well as excellent client management skills. Demonstrate ability to lead and manage complex proposals and projects.

  • Proven record with successful marketing, business development, business management, and oversight of a national service program.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience of performing and managing teams or projects focused on EH&S services

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of personal subject matter expertise or credentials (PE, CSP, CIH, etc.) in one or more of the EH&S services listed

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in safety sales and distribution

  • Established client relationships relevant to the services outlined above

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related scientific or technical field required.

  • Occupational Health and Safety (i.e. CSP, CIH, PE, etc.) or related scientific or technical field license required.
