The Director of Clinical Placement Operations will manage and oversee the entire process of placing students into clinical training sites for programs across SHRS. This includes creating a strategic plan for placements, supervising a team of Placement Specialists, and making sure that all placement sites meet quality and accreditation standards. The Director will also be responsible for researching and finding new placement sites, matching students to these sites, and maintaining strong relationships with site partners. Additionally, the role involves resolving any placement issues, ensuring compliance with regulations, and improving the program's operations through effective policies and outreach strategies. The position requires leading complex projects and working on expanding the program nationwide.

Job Summary

Develops and implements the vision and strategic plan of a program in conjunction with managing administrative functions. Fosters effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Develops budgets, marketing, education, and outreach strategies. Identifies potential funding and creates policies.

Essential Functions

Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the strategic plan for clinical placements, creating timelines and measures to track success. Provide high-level oversight to ensure the growth and sustainability of the clinical placement infrastructure.

Oversight of Placement Specialists: Supervise and mange Clinical Placement Specialists, which includes hiring, performance reviews, and documenting disciplinary actions and other human resource administration; manages work schedules and approves timecards; provides professional development opportunities; distributes and reviews work.

Site Research/Outreach/Vetting: Identifies, develops, and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders including various community partners. Conduct comprehensive research to identify and engage potential clinical placement sites. Perform outreach to establish new site partnerships and vet locations for compliance with accreditation standards. Assess on-site supervisors/preceptors to ensure they meet qualifications for adequate supervision.

Placement Site Matching/Student Coordination: Manages program administrative operations; improves workflows and resolves complex issues. Secure and match students to qualified placement sites, ensuring alignment with curricular and program needs. Facilitate effective communication between students and Placement Specialists, providing updates on the placement process.

Network Expansion/Relationship Building: Build and expand a national network of placement sites, establishing and maintaining long-term partnerships with community and institutional stakeholders. Collaborate with institutional leadership to identify strategic opportunities for site expansion.

Placement Logistics/Contingency Planning: Ensure timely and successful student placements to meet curriculum requirements. Address and resolve any site-related challenges, including securing replacement sites as needed.

Compliance/Accreditation Monitoring: Continuously monitor sites and supervisors to ensure compliance with accreditation standards. Maintain detailed records of student placements and site evaluations to meet regulatory requirements.

Marketing/Outreach/Policy Development: Develop and implement marketing, education, and outreach strategies to expand the program's reach. Develop, implement, and improve policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

Advanced Project Management: Lead high-stakes, complex projects involving multidisciplinary teams and national program expansion. Apply advanced project management techniques to balance day-to-day operations with long-term strategic planning.

Physical Effort

Must be able to sit for long periods and carry no heavier than 20 pounds.
