This position involves two sets of skills: Biostatistics support for the Division of Infectious Diseases, the Microbial Genomic Epidemiology Laboratory (MiGEL) in Center for Genomic Epidemiology (all at the University of Pittsburgh), and the Maryland Active Bacterial Core surveillance (ABCs) project, which is a CDC-funded project based at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, and database management for MiGEL and Maryland ABCs. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing biostatistical support (study design, sample size and power calculations, and data analysis) and for participating in the design and management of complex databases and performing electronic health record database extraction.

The position will be responsible for working closely with research teams at several institutions on database design, database management, and extraction and analysis of electronic health record data. The successful candidate will also assist in the design and analysis of epidemiologic and clinical studies of infectious diseases, writing statistical and data analysis sections for grant applications and scientific manuscripts, and conducting statistical analyses.

Job Summary

Supports multiple more complex services/databases; designs, develops, manages, and maintains databases. Plans and maintains database architecture and reporting. Optimizes database functions and implements integrated architecture and reporting updates. Trains and guides lower-level staff.
