University of Pittsburgh CSD Adjunct Instructor for Transcription Phonetics in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Job Responsibilities: Design, implementation, and management of a 3-credit course for students enrolled in our undergraduate Communication and Sciences and Disorders degree and for those enrolled in our post-baccalaureate program. The course CSD 1011, Transcription Phonetics, focuses on the study of the phonemics of American English and of broad and narrow phonetic transcription utilizing the international phonetic alphabet. Attention will also be paid to the transcription of abnormal speech patterns.

The syllabus will be consistent with SHRS and CSD standards. Course content, assessment, and instructional mode will be consistent with the curriculum and accreditation requirements and will be guided by the Program Director to ensure the appropriateness of the content.

Applicant Requirements:

Individuals applying for this position will have a master's degree and/or Ph.D. in communication science, speech-language pathology, or a related field. Teaching experience is preferred.
