UPMC Credentialing Assistant UPP - Credentials Verification Office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

UPMC University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a full-time Credentialing Assistant to join their team located in Oakland! This position works Monday through Friday, daylight hours. This opportunity is hybrid after training!

Purpose:

Provides clerical support to the UPMC Credentials Verification Office (CVO). Assists with maintaining the integrity of the credentialing database and the accuracy of the practitioner information. Manages the preparation, organization and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail. Maintains the current and closed application and reapplication files.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs data entry and scans accurately and efficiently according to established policies, procedures and guidelines.

  • Obtains or assists with obtaining primary source verification and records information received according to established policies and procedures.

  • Assists with the Quality Improvement Program data collection activities.

  • Maintains excellent communication (verbal, written and electronic) with all customers of the CVO including, but not limited to, the practitioners and the entity users.

  • Assists with database integrity and maintenance as required and as requested.

  • Files documents in a timely manner and maintains current and closed files according to policy and within the established guidelines.

  • Manages the preparation, organization and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail according to guidelines and as required and as requested.

  • Provides clerical support to the CVO as required and as requested.

  • Minimum 6 months office assistant or equivalent experience required

  • Excellent data entry and computer software application skills required and must have a desire to maximize the use of technology to automate processes.

  • Detail oriented person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

  • Able to work independently with accountability for work performed. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34
