Commercialization Program Manager
The Commercialization Program Manager is a dynamic role that leads program operations of the LifeX Commercialization Program and supports the design and development of startup supporting content for the Commercialization programs. This individual will be responsible for coordinating the core program operations and implementation, as well as relationship and resource management of ecosystem partners and the LifeX network of experts. An individual in this role will be actively involved in recruiting, reviewing, and working with startup companies in the LifeX programs.
LifeX exists to help viable life sciences startups bring their life-changing innovations to market with an unparalleled knowledge network, resources and funding. We de-risk these startups at any stage through a continuum of support that largely increases their chances of getting through the finish line.
Program Operations:
Drive the commercialization program review processes, including interviewing candidates, organizing LifeX team feedback, and internal decision making.
Own the commercialization program calendar. Plan and prepare execution of accelerator sessions, office hours, and pitch days and identify necessary resources for each event.
Coordinate session guests and speakers, adjusting schedule, and guests throughout the program as changes occur
Maintain, organize, and disseminate information including curriculum education, deliverables, speaker presentations, pitch feedback, and any other information or opportunities available to companies throughout the programming
Ensure continuous process improvement during program including online surveys, information capture for re-use and identifying other process changes
Manage program and event budgets for accelerator related activities, including identifying and interfacing with vendors and service providers as appropriate
Company Engagement:
Work closely with LifeX companies during the commercialization programs and other programs/events, leveraging internal and external resources to support company needs
Maintaining relationships and communication with past LifeX companies for continued engagement and opportunities to support commercialization.
Gathering information and surveying stakeholders to identify the most pressing needs of the community for educational events, resources, talent, and infrastructure to best support regional life science entrepreneurs
Support the LifeX team in planning community events, new educational programs, and convening opportunities that optimally support LifeX's network of startups
Partner and Network Development:
Build partnerships and collaborate with startup supporting organizations to expand reach of the LifeX Accelerator pipeline and programming
Support efforts to build networks of experts, investors, corporates, service providers that can support the needs of startups in the LifeX network
Organize and maintain internal facing databases of LifeX experts, enabling the right expertise to be quickly and easily identified for each milestone or project
Qualifications and Requirements:
Presence in and passion for the entrepreneurial/startup community is a must
Demonstrated ability with building community and partnerships is preferred Self-starter, high-energy, high-focus, willing to take initiative
Ability to lead projects independently, with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and time-sensitive issues for various stakeholders with time urgency while maintaining strong attention to detail, quality
Strong interpersonal skills, leadership, teamwork, verbal and written communications are a must
Comfort communicating with substance in a transparent, direct manner
This is a hybrid position that includes remote independent work with periodic required in person work and event participation in Pittsburgh.
Jo Summary
Creates a commercialization program of planned outreach. Works with faculty throughout invention lifecycle and accounts for all aspects of a commercialization package. Coordinates across stakeholders to ensure adherence to scope, timeline, and launch plan execution. Develops policies and procedures, prepares and maintains budgets, and performs other associated administrative duties.

Job is mostly sedentary but may require travel to meetings on and off campus.
