Position: Full-Time Anesthesia Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Operate equipment used intraoperatively.

  • Trains, mentors, and orients Anesthesia Associates or Anesthesia Students as needed

  • Draw blood samples from existing intravascular lines.

  • Maintain personal growth and development by participating in the in-service and continuing education programs.

  • Maintain statistics as requested to support quality initiatives, reporting responsibilities, focus studies, and operational analysis.

  • Input daily charging information into SMS for hospital technical billing purposes.

  • Perform and evaluate thromboelastrographs (TEG).

  • Operate rapid infusion pump system (RIS).

  • Assist with the evaluation of new equipment and supplies. Adhere to UPMC policy when arranging for an evaluation

  • Performs all responsibilities of Anesthesia Technician

  • Participate in the department equipment management program according to program guidelines.

  • High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experience as an anesthesia technician or emergency/medical or related experience required or Graduate from an accredited Anesthesia Tech school or program required

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • ASATT Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) or ASATT Certified Anesthesia Technologist (Cer.A.T. T.) preferred

  • Act 34
