Advanced Software Engineer

Advanced Software Engineer for Vocollect Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA

Responsibilities:

•Responsible for developing and supporting Honeywell’s Voice Enterprise software platforms (VoiceConsole, VoiceCheck, VoiceLink) using Agile Scrum/SAFe methodologies (e.g. Sprints, PIs, Stand-Ups, etc.) and expected to understand and use industry standard tools (e.g., Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence).

•Work directly with developers, testers, and product managers to deliver across the entire application life cycle (Concept, Design, Build, Deploy, Test, Release and Support).

•Perform software development on next gen platform (VCNG) utilizing newer technologies such as microservices architecture (Spring Boot), flexible API development (GraphQL), container orchestration (Kubernetes) and knowledge of migrating enterprise applications to Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model to Azure cloud.

•Perform demos on developed features.

•Participate in the Secure Software Lifecycle activities with Global & Cyber Security Teams.

•Interact cross-functionally with Honeywell global teams, partners and customers to address customer field issues.

•Support the learning, mentoring and on-boarding of new and/or junior team members.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

•Location: Pittsburgh, PA

•40 hours/week

•Employee Referral Fee: $1500

YOU MUST HAVE:

Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field and 5 years of experience in software development. In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree in the above listed fields and 3 years of experience in software development. Full term of work experience must be specific to Software Development and include: developing, scripting, testing, and troubleshooting applications developed in Java plus one or more of the following languages: JavaScript, React, Python, C/C++; additional working knowledge required of Spring, SpringBoot, Struts, SQL/No-SQL, RESTful services, GraphQL; experience with software version control tools (e.g, Bitbucket, SVN, Github, GitLab) and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla); experience with Cyber Security processes and tools to perform static code analysis to resolve security, quality, and license compliance defects that come from the use of open source and third-party libraries in software applications developed; demonstrated experience with cloud technologies including an understanding of modern microservice-based architectures and methodologies; experience converting enterprise applications to Software-as-a-Service solutions by migrating it to a cloud platform (e.g. Azure); experience using container orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes) for automating software deployment, scaling, and management; knowledge of speech recognition technologies for transcribing spoken audio into text. Up to 5% international/domestic travel required. Telecommuting permitted up to two (2) times per week.
