DESCRIPTION OF WORK As the Administrative Officer 3, your primary responsibility will be to oversee, manage, and develop a comprehensive safety and security program that spans the entire agency. This role entails directing the administration of all aspects of safety-related initiatives, which includes formulating or guiding the creation of operational and administrative policies and procedures pertaining to safety programs. You will also be tasked with assessing safety training and the associated policies to ensure their effective implementation, all while adhering to applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, standards, and directives.
This position allows for a significant degree of independence and flexibility in managing a responsive agency-wide program, with your work being evaluated through discussions and reports by the Administrative Officer 4 within the Department of Human Services Office of Administration, Facilities Management (FM), focusing on program effectiveness and compliance with established regulations and objectives. Furthermore, you will be responsible for supervising the Safety Specialist, Security Specialist, and contracted security personnel, ensuring that all safety and security measures are effectively executed.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Four years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work in a public or private organization, including experience in personnel management, budgeting or procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
This particular position requires you to possess two or more years of full-time experience with developing and implementing safety and or security plans, policies, and procedures for an organization with multiple locations.
DHS has 1300 staff and 8 locations that are open to the public and receive hundreds of visitors on a daily basis. These locations require detailed safety and security plans including emergency evacuation plans, visitor access management, security systems policies/procedures, security guard policies/procedures, safety/security incident response policies/procedures (including coordination with law enforcement).
