How You Will Make an Impact:

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as an Accounts Receivable Supervisor and drive a high-performing team in Pittsburgh, PA. Your role will play a key part in improving operations, eliminating inefficiencies, and improving process documentation. You will evaluate policies and procedures to integrate standard methodologies, ensuring effective internal control safeguards and SOX compliance.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the development of staff members through hiring, performance development, annual reviews, disciplinary actions, mentorship, and career advancement planning.

  • Prepare and analyze statistics and reporting to ensure timely and accurate compliance with schedules and metrics.

  • Provide daily interaction, training, direction, and oversight of staff activities to ensure coordination, accuracy, and timely delivery of work outputs.

  • Improve team performance in reaching goals for cash targets, DSO, and other important measurements.

  • Perform Accounts Receivable duties in line with the company’s credit policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with key partners to drive accurate revenue recognition and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.

  • Work cross-functionally with FP&A, Commercial, and Customer Services teams to resolve outstanding AR discrepancies.

  • Conduct training sessions to engage non-finance teams in finance-related compliance and processes.

  • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure 100% SOX compliance.

  • Participate in various finance projects and initiatives to drive execution improvements.

How You Will Get Here:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required

Experience

  • 4+ years of a proven track record in Finance, Accounting, Accounts Receivable including 3+ years in team leadership roles

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially MS Word and Excel, and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Cloud).

  • Effective training skills and team-building capabilities.

  • Strong oral and written communication, presentation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Experience leading continuous process improvement projects.

  • Ability to partner with all levels of management and tailor messages appropriately.

  • Strong relationship-building across departments and business units.

  • Ability to develop professional relationships with peers and upper management.

  • Competence in visualization communication methods for leadership.

  • Ability to communicate analysis and recommendations concisely.

  • Understanding of the flow of information and materials through the organization.

  • Eagerness to learn about business strategy and goals through relationships.
