Summary:

The Machinist machines and/or modifies parts for proprietary products to specification and within a reasonable time frame. Repairs and/or rebuilds tools and equipment in cooperation with maintenance. Designs and builds specialized tooling as required to produce parts in an efficient manner. These tasks are accomplished by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

• Reading and accurately interpreting blueprints
• Setting up and operating all types of manual machine tools including CNC lathes and CNC mills
• Accurately using typical machinists measuring devices
• Using attention to detail when producing parts and monitoring tolerances as each job progresses
• Working cooperatively with the manufacturing team including engineers and assembly personnel
• Recognizing and adhering to proper PPE and safety guidelines
• Maintaining clean and orderly work areas
• Reading, filling out, and completing work orders accurately

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High school diploma
• Three to five years experience preferred
• Established comfort level with power-driven equipment
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Conscientious, detail-oriented worker who is self-motivated
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 75 pounds
• Ability to be physically mobile with reasonable accommodation including ability to walk, balance, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, and stoop
