Posting Summary
Rutgers is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant (Cardiometabolic Health Research) for the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology within the School of Public Health, located in Piscataway, NJ. The Research Assistant will work under the supervision of PI in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at School of Public Health (SPH). The Research Assistant will assist the PI with research projects addressing social and economic determinants driving variations in metabolic and body mass phenotypes across the life course. The Research Assistant's primary responsibility will be performing data management and statistical analyses of datasets with large numbers of records and variables. This position provides an excellent opportunity for an MPH student or graduate interested in developing expertise in data analysis methods for epidemiological research.Duties include:
  • Be highly motivated to obtain background knowledge in cardiometabolic disease, cardiovascular health, social determinants of health, and other areas relevant to research projects.
  • Perform data management and data analysis with attention to detail.
  • Create tables and figures, and assist with the editing and preparation of manuscripts, publications, reports and presentations

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Current Rutgers student or recent graduate.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Possess quantitative analytic skills and have appropriate training in epidemiology and/or biostatistics.
  • Have high level expertise in use of statistical software including SAS and R programming.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Interest in and previous experience with population-based data, complex survey designs and/or longitudinal data is preferred.
  • Previous experience with clinical data and human subjects research preferred.
