We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Blender in our Extrusion facility in Pineville, NC!

Job Summary

The selected candidate will operate mixers, pelletizers and related equipment for the purpose of pipe and fitting raw material preparation. These activities are to be conducted while ensuring and maximizing safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping and cost control to achieve plant goals.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Operate automated and semi-automated mixer equipment to blend material in compliance with work instructions.

  • Run pneumatic material conveying systems used in the distribution of powdered materials. This system includes transfer from railcars to silos and from silos within blending department to extrusion and molding department silos while adhering to defined work instructions.

  • Operate liquid transfer system from tanker trucks to storage vessels, along with exhibiting knowledge of all process control equipment used to operate the blending equipment.

  • Understand and operate extruder and pelletizing equipment for pelletizing compounds in compliance with work instructions WMH8.

  • Manually handle and add resins and micro-ingredients in volumes specified in proprietary formulations ensuring that all operating parameters are adhered to and in compliance.

  • Transfer material to box stations, material identification, and operation of dump stations in compliance with strict work instructions.

  • Notify Supervisor and/or Lead of any non-conformance or unknown conditions and assist in the corrective actions as needed.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age.

  • A high school degree or equivalent required with the ability to read, write and do basic math. Must be knowledgeable in imperial and metric measurement systems.

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred; plastics experience is an asset.

  • Comfortable using hand tools.

  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be a self-starter with good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills coupled with an eagerness to learn.

  • Understanding of all procedures and instructions as required by ANSI/ASQC A9002 is highly preferred.

  • Must have experience operating forklift truck, pallet truck and other material handling equipment and able to use basic hand tools. Forklift license preferred.

  • Ability to work 12-hour continental Night shifts (4 nights on, 4 nights off); 84 hours bi-weekly; 7:00 – 7:00).

  • Must successfully pass criminal background check, drug screen, and physical.

Working Conditions

  • Requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, bending, and heavy lifting up to a maximum of 50 lbs.

  • Fast-paced environment where a considerable amount of sensory attention is required.
