The purpose of this position is to ensure that nightly checks on machines and equipment are done on a 2-hour basis to properly maintain the facility, to make any proper adjustments as needed and to notify management of any discrepancies.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs nightly duties in a manner to minimize any potential loss and maximize production results based on equipment being maintained properly. Performs nightly checks on machines and equipment of the facility on a 2-hour basis.

Keeps machine records based on performance results of machines through hourly checks. Reports any problem with equipment for proper repair. Cleans any equipment and the facility as needed.

Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives: This position description is intended to guide the activities of the Hatchery Services and is not intended to limit the thinking and creativity of the person to the work of this function nor is it intended that this describe all the work that may be required of the person in this position.

Physical Activities: Must be able to work in temperature extremes, on feet for the entire shift. Must be able to move wheeled buggies weighing up to 400 pounds about 200 feet in distance.

Travel: NA

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Will use appropriate footwear, hearing protection and other protective equipment as needed or required.

Technical Experience: N/A

Industry Experience: Preference for poultry or food processing organization.

Minimum Education : Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken.Must be able to read, write and perform basic math.

Preferred Education : High School Diploma or GED.

Competencies: Communication skills and decision quality- Must be able to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and the leadership team.
