Work Shift

1 - First Shift

Are you a system thinker who uses your curiosity and ingenuity to identify customer needs, apply industry requirements and understanding of multiple technologies to innovate and optimize complex control systems? In this role you will identify stakeholder needs, derive requirements, conduct tradeoff analysis, develop algorithms and functional architectures, review product design, verify and trouble shoot systems. We are looking for a strong leader to work across a range of engineering disciplines to create unique solutions while having a strong focus on delivery and quality.

What You’ll Do

  1. Translate customer needs into detailed control system requirements.

  2. Lead the definition, analysis, and allocation of requirements across the various engineering areas of moderately complex systems.

  3. Develop the high-level system architecture and perform trade-off analysis for design approaches for moderately complex systems.

  4. Plan machine-level system integration and testing approaches and procedures both virtually and physically.

  5. Provide technical leadership for moderately complex cross-functional development projects.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in the field of systems, software, mechanical, agricultural, electrical, or aerospace and eight years of product development experience in software, electronics, hydraulics, system and/or machine controls design or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  • Adept in developing electronic/hydraulic/mechanical control systems.

  • Proficient in system engineering methods, modeling, and ability to mentor a broader team.

  • Strong data-based decision analysis via structure methods (decision, pugh and trade space analysis) is essential.

  • Ability to lead system Integration and verification planning and execution.

  • Skilled in advanced troubleshooting skills, and root cause analysis utilizing FMEA, 8d’s, and 6 sigma tools.

  • Accomplished with model-based system design and agile software development.

  • Experience using Matlab/Simulink, SYSML, Jira, and Dassault 3D Experience.

  • Indepth knowledge of J1939 multiplexed communication and diagnostic protocols.

  • Understanding of industry best practices and standards on system engineering.

  • Utilizes solid communication skills with ability to traverse from low details to broad system context based on needs of audience.

Travel

  • Occasional travel is expected of this position.

Work Location

HYBRID: Some of a team member’s day-to-day work may be best done at a location other than a Vermeer campus. Discuss specific arrangements with your manager.
