About the Role

The Conveyance Engineer owns the PFEP. The CE designs, develops, tests, evaluates, and implements integrated systems for managing logistics including human work factors, inventory control, packaging and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. During long range planning and launch of new programs, the CE is responsible for ensuring equipment, personnel, and other resources are considered to ensure best practices and lean material flow is achieved. The CE will monitor continuous improvement projects, work with teams to meet targets and timelines within budget and ensure timely escalation of issues are coordinated to prevent delays.

Your Responsibilities

  • Plan for every part (PFEP) ownership. Update the PFEP to reflect any change to packaging or material flow.

  • Develop and maintain a footprint for every part in the WIP and FG rows based on PFEP.

  • Lead activities to ensure compliance with the footprint for every part/rack

  • Lead activities to reduce inventory in the WIP and FG rows.

  • Develop, monitor, and report out on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Responsible for development of corrective actions for KPIs not meeting goals.

  • Spearhead activities to reduce external warehousing

  • Support any logistics or packaging setup activities related to engineering change notice in assigned area.

  • Support any logistics or packaging setup activities related to future plant expansions or new production line and ensure best practices are implemented.

  • Support in development of the Layout Management System processes and use the established processes to communicate any required updates to the layout of equipment, materials, workspace, etc.

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Operations Management, a related technical discipline, or 10 years related experience with a sound understanding and proven history of logistical concepts.

  • Experience in developing and enforcing part or rack footprint layout

  • Continuous improvement project involvement

  • Understanding value stream mapping

Your preferred qualifications

  • Lean six sigma training

  • Strong change management, facilitation, and communication skills coupled with a demonstrated ability to drive improvement in a highly-decentralized environment.

  • Proven project management skills dealing with complex projects.

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Project, Word.

  • Strong leadership skills.

Pay range: $65,000 - $85,000
