SHILHOUETTE FARM & FORESTRY Forestry Worker (Temporary) in PHOENIX, Oregon
Employer is looking to fill 90 Forestry Worker positions. This is a temporary, full-time seasonal position from 3/1/2025 to 11/30/2025. Requirements: Three (3) months Forestry and commercial brush saw/chainsaw experience. At least 18 due to travel. Able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be avail for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of employment. Employer Notes: Begin/report to work in Pheonix, Jackson County, OR 97535, at $25.15 per hour. Employer will transport workers daily between report to work address and additional worksites: (Tentative Itinerary - continue throughout various counties/areas) within the States of: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NM, NV, OH, OK, OR, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, WV and WY. Must show proof of legal authority to work in the US. Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco free work zone. Possible background check and random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/refusal to abide equals dismissal. Job Duties: Raising and transporting seedlings; sort tree seedlings, discarding substandard seedlings, according to standard charts or verbal instructions. Plant: seedlings/trees (without J/U root). Clean and maintain equipment/job site, load/unload tools/equipment to be used. Spray or inject vegetation with insecticides/ herbicides to protect against disease or reduce competing vegetation; enhance growth. Trim trees or other vegetation; cut trees or logs. Under the direction of fire suppression officers or forestry technicians: suppression via clearing/disposing of brush, piling, and digging line/constructing fire breaks. Operate site preparation equipment as needed. Incidental driving and other related Forestry Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-4011 (onetonline.org). Work is performed outdoors, exposed to weather; perform physical labor for long hours, occasionally in extreme heat or cold. Walk substantially (up to 15 miles/day), also stoop, bend while carrying a pack (up to 50lbs) thru rough terrain (non-trail). Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00AM to 2:30PM. Offering 40 (plus) hours per week; not including applicable lunch and/or breaks. Possible weekend/holiday work. Start/end times, offered hours and /or Overtime could vary as they may be dependent upon other factors such as project/schedule/service needs, weather and commute time between worksites (if applicable). Varying weather conditions apply; hours may fluctuate, possible downtime and/or OT. Employer will comply w/all applicable Federal, State and local employment-related laws and regulations such as wages, breaks, hours worked, and OT hours (OT possible, but not required or guaranteed. If OT is worked, wage is paid at 1.5x regular rate of pay per hour worked beyond 40 hours each week.). Wage: $12.78 per hour up to possible $45.00 per hour. OT $19.17 per hour up to possible $67.50 per hour. Wage may vary based on Experience and/or location worked. Will use single workweek as standard for computing wages due. Wage paid every 2 weeks. All deductions required by law. The worker will be offered a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of each 12-week period. All work will be done with employer provided tools, supplies and equipment without charge or deposit. Safe work boots required, employer will provide via REIMBURSEMENT: each employee is eligible for one (1) pair of safe work boots per calendar year ' employee may purchase boots of their choice and employer will reimburse up to $350.00 annually (from the date of purchase) upon submission of a verifiable receipt. Optional, shared housing avail at no cost to the worker. Any worker who voluntarily abandons employ is not entitled to payment for outbound transportation or full 3/4s Guarantee described. Inbound and Outbound Transportation (Initial Arrival & Contract Completion/Subsequent Departure): The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement ill be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at the rate required at the time of travel (currently $15.88/day during travel to a maximum of $59/day with receipts). Transportation and subsistence will be reimbursed (by check in 1st work week) for cost from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, whether in the US or abroad, to the place of employment. Will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (not including passport). Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer.
