The VDI Administrator oversees VDI / AVD integration while supporting Azure Virtual Desktop environment. Functions as project lead over key initiatives related to VDI / AVD and Microsoft patchwork. Serves as the key resource for interactions with our VDI / AVD host provider. Creates key initiatives to ensure stability of the VDI environment. Conducts monitoring over VDI service performance. Builds gold/ parent images for deployment across the environment. Education and Experience


Required:

High School Diploma or GED U.S. Citizenship Must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation 4+ years technical support experience in a large, corporate environment 4+ years technical experience with desktops support 3 years of experience administering a VDI environment Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or related on the job experience in a VDI environment. Microsoft Certified Fundamentals 900 Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate 104 Microsoft Certified Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty 140 Key Responsibilities


Applies advanced knowledge of operating systems, network administration, desktop virtualization via VDI / Azure Virtual Desktop environment, the OSI model, TCP/IP principals, computer viruses, security and protocols. Collaborates with users, vendors, and other technical staff members on the isolation and resolution of on-going system problems and enhancements. Troubleshoots AVD Logs for efficient problem resolution. Trains peer IT personnel on VDI / Azure Virtual Desktop. Monitors VDI / Azure Virtual Desktop AVD usage and performance. Monitors health of AVD using Azure Monitor to gain end to end observability of applications, infrastructure and network performance. Design, deploy, and configure and patch Azure Virtual Desktop environments based on organizational requirements. Implement and manage virtual machine images, including OS configurations and application installations. Participates in developing IT best practices, policies, processes, and procedures for VDI environment. Performs other duties as assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is required. Competencies

Technical Skills: Intermediate-level understanding of Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop/ AVD to create, troubleshoot, and modify virtual machines. Utilize Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty 104 understanding, in creating, modifying, and updating templates to create parent images for VM deployment. Intermediate-level knowledge of networking concepts including DNS and DHCP. Windows Administrator-level understanding of using Active Directory to manage users and groups. Working knowledge of Powershell commands. Use of Azure portal, Azure CLI, PowerShell and REST API to configure the host pools, create application groups, assign users, and publish resources. Working Conditions:

Standard office environment, with weekend or nighttime work to implement changes when users are off the system Limited travel required to remote sites for maintenance and moves Extensive computer work with prolonged sitting Participates in rotation of on-call responsibility

Annual base salary for Colorado, Hawaii, Washington D.C. and Washington State residents: $85,000 - $109,000 depending on experience.
