Position Summary

The Specialty Guarantee Management Senior Manager will lead a team of analysts responsible for reviewing specialty guarantee performance by client on a monthly basis, prepare financial performance reporting, provide reporting and information for audit requests, and partner with Underwriting, Sales/Account Management, Audit, Legal and Product Innovation, and Client and Network pricing, to review contract terms and provide recommendations for pricing strategy as a subject matter expert.

Additionally the Senior Manager will help grow the financial performance of our specialty business by reporting and forecasting financials for Specialty drug pricing guarantee management , margin management as well as client contract compliance .

Primary responsibilities include:

  1. Lead monthly client guarantee performance review calls with the finance functional area to provide overview of client guarantee performance, budget and forecast projections.

  2. Collaborate with data and software engineering functional areas for continued system enhancements to the Specialty Guarantee Management application.

  3. Support analysts responsible for performing monthly data pulls for specialty guarantee clients. Review performance results, drug mix and utilization to identify opportunities to mitigate financial risk to the organization.

  4. Review contract terms, coupled with financial results to provide recommendations to legal, product innovation, underwriting and the account teams for more favorable contract terms.

  5. Collaborate with underwriting, finance and accounting partners to understand and improve gaps and overlaps in processes and gain further understanding of the multiple components and factors that impact a client’s financial performance.

    A successful candidate in this role has:

  • Leadership skills and experience in leading a team

  • A pricing and/ or financial background

  • Review and analyze complex financials.

  • Highly proficient in working with large data sets

  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

  • Experience in setting up process and executing against them.

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated experience using business analytics to problem solve data-driven questions

  • Aptitude to communicate complex analytic findings and conclusions in an easy to understand way

  • Ability to collaborate with and influence clients and customers to develop analytic models, methodologies and reports that support CVS Health products and services

  • Ability to appropriately prioritize competing client requests to ensure focus on highest impact activities

  • Ability to interact with others in a collegial and professional manner; leverage team resources to support assigned clients; and help foster teamwork and knowledge sharing to complete key tasks

Required Qualifications - 7+ years of Pricing/Financial analysis experience

  • 3+ years of leading a team and management experience

  • 2+ years of SAS, SQL, Access, Tableau and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) experience -Experience in pricing/underwriting for Pharmacy- Knowledge of health insurance, managed care, prescription drug industry, or specialty pharmacy preferred

Education Bachelor's Degree required or relevant work experience may be considered

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$75,400.00 - $166,000.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
