Honeywell Sr. Chief Engineer - Advanced Air Mobility in Phoenix, Arizona

This posting is for a Sr. Chief Engineer – Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Systems based in Phoenix, AZ. The scope of this position is to provide oversight for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Urban Air Mobility (UAM) integrated systems and associated technology. This role covers integrated system aspects comprising both Electronics and Mechanical products for UAS/UAM applications.

Major job responsibilities include:

· Design Authority (final accountability) for AAM integrated systems

· Work closely with Electronics and Mechanical Product Chief Engineers to define and implement integrated systems solutions for the UAS/UAM market

· Drive product plans and technical strategies using customer feedback/needs and competitive intelligence data

· Advocate for the product and technical strategy in the development/engineering organization

· Ensure that the technology roadmap is aligned with and supports the product plans/roadmap

· Provide technical oversight/approval in internal and external Design Reviews and ensure that appropriate Design Reviews are conducted

· Review and approve technical concepts for new proposals ensuring they comply with customer and business requirements and align with the technical strategy

· Oversee technical aspects of proposals to ensure scope is well-defined, risks and mitigations are identified, technical basis is well-defined, and estimates are reasonable

· Conduct safety assessments and drive closure of Product Condition Report (PCRs) safety issues in conjunction with Product Integrity

· Support resolution of systemic or critical in-service and production issues, including approval of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)

· Act as a technical spokesperson within Honeywell and with customers

· Act as a technical focal point with regulatory authorities

· Support and approve Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS) phase gate reviews for new development programs, ensuring appropriate plans are in place to meet key requirements, including yield, cost, and quality

· Support qualification and certification activities, including review and approval of required documentation

· Provide training and mentoring to build capability and effectiveness of the Engineering team

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE

· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Software Engineering or related field

· 10 years of experience in design, development, qualification, and field issue resolution for products in the scope of this position

WE VALUE

· Advanced Degree in Engineering

· Extensive experience in the design, development, test, qualification and certification of products in the scope of this position

· Experience in formal leadership/management

· Strong communication skills (with engineers, customers, and executive leadership)

· Experience in leading teams in successful RCCA investigations of field and production issues

· Experience with Honeywell internal processes (IPDS, IRB, MRB, Design Reviews, etc.)

· Experience dealing with Honeywell customers

· Experience working with personnel at other Honeywell sites
