About Network Solutions & Operations:

As part of the Global Merchant & Network Services group (GMNS) the Network & Acquirer Solutions (NAS) team is at the core of American Express, uniquely positioned to service every business unit and customer across the Enterprise. Each year, we power billions of transactions through our global payments network, serving our Issuing and Acquiring businesses in more than 170 markets worldwide. We are driving a strategic, multi-year transformation to modernize our Acquirer solutions to build innovative products, services, and capabilities that will anticipate our merchant and acquiring partners needs.

Reporting to the Director of Acquirer Platform Transformation – Product Management, this newly created role, Senior Manager of Acquirer Product Management, will have the exciting opportunity to be part of a key strategic priority for the GMNS business. This team is responsible for evolving the strategic agenda focused on how we are modernizing and transforming our Acquiring products and processes globally. This includes setting the strategy, defining future use cases, ensuring our current roadmap enables the business for the future, and identifying opportunities to provide differentiated value to our Merchants and Partners.

As a key member of this team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining products and services and provide differentiated value and a seamless experience that allows customers to expand to new markets and programs.

  • Evaluate the external merchant acquirer landscape and trends to determine where AXP should be at parity and where AXP should intentionally be unique in order to deliver a high value customer experience.

  • Work closely with the Acquiring Delivery Capability and Envisioning teams to design high-level solutions and stress-test/validate new acquiring solutions.

  • Collaborate to enable the flawless execution of the acquirer roadmap in close partnership with the Acquiring Delivery and Technology teams.

  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps including maintaining a backlog of features.

  • Drive market readiness of product releases including preparation and deployment of documentation and training to ensure successful adoption.

Qualifications-The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Experience: Background in end-to-end Product Management (3 years) and an understanding the payments industry, preferably including merchant acquisitions.

  • Intellectual curiosity: High intellectual curiosity, with excellent creative and critical thinking and problem-solving skills and ability to deal with ambiguous or undefined problems.

  • Strategic thought leadership: Strategic and innovative mindset, with the ability to synthesize and translate market and industry trends into opportunities for AXP to drive innovative solutions.

  • Transformational spirit: Proven track record of driving change management and delivery in complex and highly matrixed organizations.

  • Executive communication: Outstanding communicator with the ability to distill complex topics into clear and concise messages, adapted for the audience appropriately.

  • Highly collaborative : Ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver value beyond traditional means.

  • Great attitude: High energy, an optimistic attitude, eagerness to learn, high level of accountability and a good sense of humor.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
