The U.S. Consumer Services and Enterprise Digital & Data Technology Team brings together foundational strategic technology capabilities in digital experience engineering (Mobile and Web), AI/ML, marketing technology, enterprise communications, travel and lifestyle, and automation, grounded in our data technology model that prioritizes data governance. It employs a ground-breaking focus with development responsibilities for customer-facing capabilities that deepen and expand digital engagement, as well as core technical capabilities that cut across business lines and customer segments.

GCP LUMI Big Data platform ideally suited for computationally and/or data intensive processing applications. Whether the data needs to be processed in batch, online, or streaming manner, Lumi provides robust capabilities to handle such workloads effectively. A hub of very hardworking Big Data engineers and most exciting & upcoming technologies. As we embark on the journey to move to public cloud - GCP you will be part of a fast-paced Agile team, design, develop, test, troubleshoot & optimize solutions created to simplify access to the Amex’s Big Data Platform.

Organizational Context:

Member of Google Cloud Platform engineering team reporting to the Engineering Director

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, Design, develop & deploy LUMI Realtime capabilities.

• Optimize & Advance GCP Real Time capabilities.

• Provide guidance & solutions to migrate Legacy Big Data applications to LUMI platform by effectively partnering with Migration team and Application teams.

• Instrument necessary tools to identify performance opportunities and develop solutions to mitigate.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10 Years of IT experience.

• Deep working knowledge in Front End web server, Elastic Search, Reddis, Hbase/BigTable (All are required)

• Proven Experience in solving platform/environmental issues for application teams.

• Understanding of fundamentals of Git and Git workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of various GCP services Cloud dataflow, Cloud Pub-Sub, Cloud Storage, Big Table, Speech to Text, Google Composer etc.

• Python Scripting experience

• Cornerstone Platform experience

• Proven experience of supporting platform Engineering Activities, Network & Firewall

• Terraform development experience

Qualifications

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually bonus benefits
