Mercury Systems Senior Director, Finance- Business Operations in Phoenix, Arizona

Job Summary: The Senior Director of Finance for Business Operations will play a critical role in providing financial leadership, with a specific focus on all Business Units and corporate financials. This position is responsible for overseeing manufacturing costs, supporting revenue forecasting, and driving the Estimate at Completion (EAC) process to ensure data integrity. As a key business partner, the director will collaborate with factory leads, senior management, and Corporate FP&A to ensure alignment on financial goals and objectives. Job Responsibilities: * Using firsthand experience within a matrix organization, this Senior Director of Finance will partner with the Operations VP and Engineering VP to drive accuracy in financial reporting. * Oversee and enhance manufacturing cost processes, with a strong emphasis on cost reduction and efficiency improvements * Assist senior operations and finance team with ensuring accurate and timely reporting of manufacturing costs. * Collaborate with Operations Factory Leads to monitor and manage cost structures, including materials, labor, and overhead. * Facilitate workforce planning within the company. * Serve as a business partner to factory leads, senior management, and corporate FP&A, providing critical financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions. * Assist in inventory forecasting and planning process with I/O analyses by plant. * Extensive ad hoc and standard weekly/monthly reporting. Partners with sales, pricing, and operations management to reduce inefficiencies, control investments, and expand margins. * Provides recommendations to management for establishing and achieving cost objectives/targets * Be an integral part of the revenue forecasting process to support production planning Work closely with Operations and Quality/Mission Assurance, Materials, and Production management for multiple production sites. * Have an in-depth understanding and communicate the drivers of manufacturing variances and department expenses. * Evaluate and assess the impact of current processes and bring in thought leadership for change and innovation for cost optimization. * Manage and ensure the integrity of the EAC process, ensuring accurate cost estimates for long-term contracts, and providing data-driven insights to support program profitability. * Support pricing strategies and contract negotiations by providing financial analysis and guidance on cost structures. * Advises senior leaders by providing detailed analysis and reporting on key metrics to include backlog and factory capacity * Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures, as well as industry regulations. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, with 12+ years of relevant experience. * Significant experience in manufacturing finance and thorough knowledge of inventory, cost management techniques, financial modeling, financial analysis, financial reporting, and budgeting. * Very strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. Extensive systems knowledge in a manufacturing environment. Strong financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis skills. * Demonstrated experience with EAC and its importance in long-term contract management. * Proficiency in financial systems, Oracle and Costpoint, and advanced Excel capabilities. * Collaborative, proactive, good problem solver, results-oriented, high energy; demonstrates urgency, fast pace, and ability to multi-task. * Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with and advise senior management and staff. * Must be able to travel: 30% travel. Preferred Qualifications: * CPA license or MBA degree. * Experience in the Defense and Aerospace industry.
