QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess a valid Food Handlers Card
Must possess a valid Fingerprint level 1 Clearance Card
Must possess a valid Arizona Class C or better Driver’s License
Must satisfactorily participate in the Driver Fleet Safety Program
Must have experience and/or education in food management services
Must be able to lift 35-50 pounds
Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Must be able to multi-task and work in a team environment
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintaining the Health Department standards for food preparation, storage of food supplies, use of equipment, and the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining room areas
Preparing the daily Home Delivered and Congregate meals assuring that they are ready to serve at the specified time
Packaging of Home Delivered meals and assuring that they meet Health Department standards for temperature, packaged to maintain proper temperature, and delivered within Area Agency’s time requirements
Assist Kitchen Manager in planning menu cycles according to Area Agency standards
Assist Kitchen Manager in develop menus and food service system regarding special dietary needs participants
Assist Kitchen Manager in maintaining portion control when serving food
Assist Kitchen Manager in maintaining inventory control and purchasing all supplies needed to fulfill the Home delivered Meals and congregate nutrition contracts
Receiving supply shipments and checking in of all groceries
Assist Kitchen Manager in overseeing food storage, proper food rotation and address any concerns in these areas
Oversee the security of food and equipment inventory
Assist Kitchen Manager with the annual Thanksgiving Home Delivered Meal Program
Second Cook will assume duties of Kitchen Manager in his/her absence
Assist in delivery of meals as needed
Assisting other program areas as the need arises

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
