SUMMARY OF POSITION

Responsible for management and/or oversight of product quality and quality systems. Ensure conformance with applicable aerospace requirements such as ISO and AS9100 certifications as well as Customer and industry specific requirements. Maintain the facilitys Corrective and Preventative Action System. Meet with suppliers, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required. Prepares for and represents the company during all ISO / AS9100, NADCAP, and related audits. Oversee internal audit program. Support customer meetings and prepare/present quality related material during customer meetings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate project timelines and manage multi-department working teams. Represent QS in project teams and assist in meeting team goals through coaching, training, guiding, directing, consulting and teaching Quality and all other Northstar personnel as necessary.
  • Assign tasks and delegate tasks to personnel. Set expectation of personnel and communicate desired performance levels. Hold employees accountable, measure results and recognize results. Resolve any nonperformance.
  • Develop and maintain site related work instructions as well as assure processes are mutually agreed upon and implemented within all functional areas. Develop controls for ensuring conformance to established standards and aerospace requirements. Participate on the Configuration Change Board (CCB). Develop appropriate measures for assuring compliance to the defined processes. Promote Engineering standard work to complement Northstar manufacturing plans, and as an output to the Root Cause and Corrective Action process.
  • Audit for compliance. Ensure annual audit plan is conducted, review audit packages, train auditors, establish and maintain records of compliance, analyze audit metrics and develop improvement plans.
  • Assure adequate support for the current system, collaborate with users to develop refinements, upgrades, or additional capability to support the strategic business objectives. Develop long and short-term objectives, work with the other sites to implement the objectives and report on related progress.
  • Manage the Corrective & Preventive Action Board (CAPA) and the Corrective Action Request (CAR) process by tracking CAR status and ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are effective and timely. Work with other departments and personnel as necessary to assure accurate responses and perform verification and follow up activities.
  • Ensure the QMS conforms to the requirements of AS9100. Ensure the processes are delivering their intended outputs. Ensure the responsibilities and authorities for relevant roles are assigned, communicated and understood within the organization. Conduct Management Reviews as the management representative, reporting on the performance of the QMS and on opportunities for improvement. Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization. Ensure the integrity of the QMS is maintained when changes to the QMS are planned and implemented.
  • Achieve customer satisfaction scorecard metrics for quality and delivery and coordinate recovery plans as required. Support improvement objectives to achieve first pass yield.
  • Ensure quality policy is communicated within the organization and quality objectives are established for the QMS. Ensure integration of the QMS requirements into the organizations business processes. Promoting the use of process approach and risk-based thinking. Ensuring the resources needed for the QMS are ass ssed and available. Communicating the importance of the effective QMS and conforming to the QMS requirements.
  • Ensure Final Inspection establishes appropriate controls to eliminate escapes and drive upstream quality at the source. Ensure gauge and tool control, including the calibration system, is established and maintained (MSA, Gage R&R).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will direct the work of 5-10 other employees.
