Our team is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer for our multidisciplinary Process Infrastructure and Design team based in Phoenix, Arizona or Salt Lake City, Utah on a full-time basis. The team you will join will offer interesting diversity of global clients and projects in Environmental Infrastructure facilities, renewable energy, global surface and underground mining facility and pumping stations, industrial facilities, landfills and water management facilities.

Location : Depending on candidate preference, this individual can work in our Phoenix AZ or Salt Lake City, UT offices. It is preferred to join the Phoenix Arizona office.

Your Impact

  • Independently prepare electrical design drawings and specifications in consideration with safety, construction, and operations.

  • Perform engineering and design calculations for cables, sizing major electrical equipment, lighting, grounding, etc.

  • Prepare design drawings and documents in power distribution and control systems such as, motor controls schematics, Control panel circuit diagrams, PLC panel layouts and wiring diagrams.

  • Design overall power systems and develop Electrical onelines, plan drawings, installation details, wiring diagrams and fabrication drawings.

  • Travel to various client sites, attend project meetings and conduct field review. Approximately 25% travel.

  • Liaise with internal clients regularly to ensure project objectives are being managed and achieved in alignment with expectations.

  • Support project management personnel with regular reporting, scheduling, staffing planning and coordination

  • Ability to use ETAP, SKM, or other power system study software

  • Experience with AutoCAD 2D/3D, Revit and lighting software such as dialux, etc.

  • Participate in regular project meetings to ensure quality client delivery.

  • Work collaboratively with the Electrical and Instrumentation Design Team

  • Adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of projects

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited program.

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering consulting

  • Experience in creating engineering and design packages for electrical and controls disciplines

  • Uses technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments (including more complex tasks) with some guidance and direction from more senior technical professionals. Independently evaluates, selects, and adapts standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks

  • Previous electrical engineering and/or design experience in utilities, mining, industrial, water treatment, landfill or energy projects would be considered an asset.

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of software such as Word and Excel.

  • Proficient with AutoCAD 2D/3D, Revit.

  • Accountable for results. Adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of projects.

  • Possesses integrity, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and is dependable

  • Highly motivated team player that works well with supervisors, subordinates, peers and clients and demonstrate personal initiative.

  • Ability and willingness to travel to various client sites, attend project meetings and conduct field review. Approximately 25% travel.

  • Must pass background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NCEES Engineer in Training / Professional Engineering License strongly preferred

  • Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering discipline.

  • Design-Build project execution experience.

  • AutoCAD, Revit, or other design program competence

  • Minimum five year of electrical engineering experience with mining, industrial, water treatment, and municipal facilities projects
