FirstService Residential Grounds Maintenance Staff in Phoenix, Arizona
Job Overview:
As the Grounds Maintenance Staff, you will perform custodial and grounds duties to maintain the cleanliness of the buildings, amenities and common areas, along with the surrounding grounds.
Compensation: $18+ per hour based on experience
FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Your Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning duties in the lobby area, kitchen, hallways and bathrooms
- Perform general landscaping duties (trim and edge around trees and bushes, leaf blowing, maintain walkways) around the community and surrounding grounds
- Plant and maintain new decorative bushes, flowers, plans and shrubs
- Prune existing shrubs and trees to remove any overgrowth
- Maintain reception area and common areas in a clean and tidy manner
- Clean, sanitize and supply restrooms and gym as needed
- Empty and clean trash receptacles as needed
- Maintain the floors by sweeping, scrubbing, mopping and waxing
- Maintain all custodial and landscaping equipment
Skills and Qualifications:
- Detail oriented
- Outstanding communication skills
- Able to work collaboratively and cooperatively
- Able to use tools, equipment and chemicals properly and safely
- Knowledge of general landscaping methods, operating requirements and safety precautions related to landscaping
- Able to follow oral and written directions, keep accurate records, fill out logs and journals, and perform administrative operational functions
Education and Experience:
- One (1)+ year experience of janitorial or custodial work is highly preferred
- Prior landscaping experience preferred
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Stand, sit, walk for extended periods of time may be required
- Able to safely lift up to 40-50 pounds following appropriate safety procedures
Work Location: Portland on the Park; 200 W Portland St Phoenix, AZ 85003
Work Hours: Full time; Flexible 5 days per week. Typical shift is 4a – 12p.
