POSITION SUMMARY

The Finance Director will work in a fast-paced environment with other highly skilled professionals in a team setting. As the Finance Director, you will be required to demonstrate a high level of self-initiative and analytical skills including developing new reporting, supporting strategic planning, and assisting management with decision making tools. You will oversee the Financial Planning and Analysis, Value Based Care and Payer Contracts teams under direct supervision of the Chief Financial Officer. This position will require the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the company and provide effective leadership and direction. This role will lead and develop staff, create, and ensure accurate and timely financial and operational reporting packages, analytical processes, forecasting, interpreting, and translating quantitative data into qualitative information for management to utilize. This position is responsible for leading the annual budget process, producing monthly reporting packages, identifying trends, developing proformas, assisting with strategic planning for value-based care, and overseeing payer contracts and relationships.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field with at least 5 years in a financial analyst or similar role.

  • Must have supervisory experience.

  • Expert experience in business plan development including, but not limited to pro forma financial statements, cost analysis, ROI projection, project budgeting, and cash flow forecast

  • Experience in preparing financial performance reports to interpret clinical utilization, provider productivity, variance to budget, cost and benefits, and other performance metrics

  • Experience in preparing organizational and departmental financial statements based on a solid understanding of payer mix, government reimbursement, third party billing, and revenue cycle management

  • Working knowledge of revenue cycle analytics, value-based care and payer contracts

  • Ability to research, analyze, and present financial information combined with large sets of clinical data including encounter, claims, and patient data to communicate economic trends and current issues to executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders

  • Ability to identify and lead develop new reporting needs.

  • Experience in training, coaching, and team development

  • Partners with internal stakeholders to provide training and guidance on reports.

  • Maintain external payer and partner relationship, report updates and findings to CFO

  • Experience with clinical practice management system and EMR applications for statistical reporting, trending, and charting

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent computer knowledge and advanced competence in Microsoft Excel. SQL, SmartView and Oracle EPM experience preferred but not required.

  • Excellent critical thinking skills and solution-based approach to work.

  • Must have a cheerful outlook, enthusiasm, and be initiative-taking

  • Detailed working knowledge of financial statements and general GAAP requirements.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to set priorities for teams and self to meet time-sensitive project deadlines

  • Evidence of valid Arizona driver’s license and current auto insurance

  • Competency in collaborating with people of various cultures

  • Ability to perform a variety of assignments requiring the considerable exercise of independent judgment

    POSITION REPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL:

  • Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team including, but not limited to timecards, performance reviews, training, and development of staff

  • Must have experience in healthcare finance, operations, planning, reporting, and data analytics.

  • Must have experience in business plan development under healthcare settings, including, but not limited to pro forma financial statements, cost analysis, ROI projection, project budgeting, and cash flow forecast

  • Experience coordinating financial close with accounting department to ensure reports are distributed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Experience in preparing financial performance reports to interpret clinical utilization, provider productivity, variance to budget, cost and benefits, and other performance metrics

  • Experience in preparing organizational and departmental financial statements based on a solid understanding of payer mix, government reimbursement, third party billing, and revenue cycle management

  • Experience with revenue cycle and value-based care analytics

  • Experience in identifying, developing, and implementing new reporting needs.

  • Experience partnering with stakeholders to provide ad-hoc reporting, training, and guidance on existing and new reporting.

  • Working knowledge of medical coding (ICD-9, CPT-4, etc.), AHCCCS (Arizona Health Care Cost Control System) plans, FQHC, UDS, government reporting, RVU, and Medicare reimbursement methodology

  • Ability to research, analyze, and present financial information combined with large sets of clinical data including encounter, claims, and patient data to communicate economic trends and current issues to executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders

  • Experience with clinical practice management system EMR applications for statistical reporting, trending, and charting

  • Effectively communicates with stakeholders to support shared goals

    NONESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated experience as an Advocate for Health Care or Human Rights

  • Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required

  • CPA, CMA, CHFP, similar certificate preferred but not required
